Opening Hours in Dublin
Dublin’s standard business hours are great for tourists, since although some stores close at 6 pm, others are open until 8 pm and visitors can easily combine sightseeing with some shopping.
Stores
Most shops in Dublin typically open from 9 am – 6 pm Mondays to Saturdays, extending their opening hours on Thursdays until 8 pm. Some of the city’s shopping centers and department stores are open daily until 8 pm or 9 pm.
Nearly all stores are open on Sundays from midday until 6 pm.
Some grocery stores are open 24 hours a day, especially the multinational retail chain Spar, which can be found in all of Dublin’s neighbourhoods.
Museums
Museums in Dublin are generally open from 10 am to 5 pm, Tuesday to Sunday. Most remain open for longer hours on Thursday. Most close on Monday.
Bars, pubs and restaurants
Meal times in Ireland are like other Northern European countries. Lunch is usually between midday and 1 pm and dinner is between 6 pm and 7 pm. However, most restaurants are open until later.
In Ireland, many restaurants offer early bird menus. If you decide to have dinner before the traditional supper hours, you’ll enjoy reduced-price menus.
